Poker Hands

Below is a listing of the hand rankings for the game of poker; listed in descending value:

#1 - Royal Flush

    

The Royal Flush contains five cards of the same suit that are in ranking sequence beginning with the Ace card. The hand would contain the Ace, King, Queen, Jack and Ten card of any given suit. This hand cannot be beaten!

#2 - Straight Flush

    

This hand contains five cards in ranking sequence that are also of the same suit.

#3 - Four-of-a-Kind

    

This hand contains four cards that are of equal rank. The suit of the four cards is not considered.

#4 - Full House

    

This hand contains three cards that are of equal rank and a separate two cards that are of equal rank. For instance, 2 Kings and 3 Fours would constitute a Full House. The suit of the cards is not considered.

#5 - Flush

    

This hand contains five cards that are of the same suit. The rank of the cards is not considered.

#6 - Straight

    

This hand contains five cards in sequence of rank. The suit of the cards is not considered.

#7 - Three-of-a-Kind

    

This hand contains three cards that are of equal rank. The suit of the three cards is not considered.

#8 - Two Pair

    

This hand contains two sets of two cards that are of equal rank. The suit of the two cards is not considered.

#9 - One Pair

    

This hand contains two cards that are of equal rank. The suit of the two cards is not considered.

#10 - High Card

    

If none of the players on the table possess any of the hands listed above the winner of the round would be the player with the highest card in their hand.
